My Senior Essay

My Senior Essay

When I was a kid, I never was very motivated. I was quiet, because I was always reading, and I was an only child, so I had no social skills.

But as I grew up in high school, as I passed my sophomore year, I suddenly snapped out of it. I started talking to people around me and began to realize that at the rate I was going, I'd never be able to get to college.

I switched schools in the middle of my junior year, because I wasn't getting enough work done to graduate on time. I've been motivated in other parts of my life; staying in shape, and keeping a steady job. This motivation has helped me realize what I want to do with my life.

My first high school was Chugiak High School. I also went to KCC the beginning of my Senior Year for experience in Broadcasting and credit in English. I've always wanted to be on stage, or be behind something to do with music or cameras. If I hadn't switched schools, I wouldn't have been able to do that.

For my career, I've always liked the idea of being a radio DJ, or anything to do with music and media. I love working with people. I plan to get all of my required college classes at UAA, since I get free classes (my mom works there). I have a backup college fund for books and rooming, and I'll have a steady job that has something to do with my dream career by the time I finish high school.

After I graduate, I'll continue at my job, if I enjoy it. Above all, my goal is to have a job that I'm passionate about. I don't want to be working in the fast food industry for another year. I don't want to be a Muni worker like my dad, or I'd be constantly unhappy.

I believe if I love my job decades down the road, I'll be a lot happier.
